The company

Barricade M.I.K.E is an Athens, Greece-based media production company.

Through our work we want to unearth, research and make known the forgotten history, especially that related to Greece, the Greek diaspora, and (international) folk culture.

About us

Director Nikos Ventouras was born in Corfu, Greece. Attracted to all kinds of creative work from an early age, he has been working as a programmer, and moonlighting/dabbling as a copy writer, photographer and columnist for several Greek media outlets. He also makes music, which he largely consumes himself.

Producer Lamprini Thoma has decades of experience in all kinds of journalist gigs, including radio host, war correspodent and comedy script writer. She has covered wars in the Balkans, the former Soviet Union and West Africa, and has worked in print, online and broadcast media, including the BBC’s now defunct Greek service. She’s especially proud for having created the first regular news column on the (then) new “internet” thing in Greece.

Lamprini and Nikos have been working together for media stories for over a decade. “Palikari” is their first feature length documentary, though they have 3 more in the oven.
